Lava A93 4G Smartphone with 8MP Camera & 3000mAh Battery Launched for Rs. 7,999

The local smartphone brand, Lava launched a new budget smartphone called Lava A93 today in India. While the Chinese-branded smartphones are capturing more market share by offering high-end specifications, most of the Indian brands are still continuing to offer mediocre specifications. The new Lava A93 priced at Rs. 7,999 also lacks the superior specifications to compete with the Chinese devices. It will be available in Gold and Grey color options. The device still runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and we don’t expect them to release any software updates in the near future.

It comes with a polycarbonate shell with a 2.5D curved glass on the front. The 5.5-inch display on the front offers HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood, the Lava A93 packs an unknown quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. There is also 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage that can be expanded up to another 32GB using the MicroSD card slot. It supports dual SIM dual standby but offers 4G LTE network only on one SIM. In the camera department, the Lava A93 sports an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP selfie camera. Both the cameras are accompanied with LED flash for capturing photos even in low light conditions.
The device is backed by a 3,000mAh battery that should give at least day long battery life. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio port, and Micro USB 2.0 port. There also a few additional features like Smart Screenshot, Video PIP, Smart Music, and Smart Gestures. It measures 145 x 72.2 x 8.85 mm and weighs 152 grams. There are thick black bezels around display which makes the device look big even with a 5.5-inch display. Beneath the display are the three capacitive navigation button for multitasking, home, and back (from left to right).
The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device. On the left side of the rear camera, we can also spot the loudspeaker. The availability of the device is not yet known, but we expect it to be sold via offline stores across the country. If it’s an online exclusive device, it faces stiff competition from the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 4 and InFocus Turbo 5. Stay tuned on Phoneradar for details about the upcoming smartphones.
